Presentation in Vilnius of report on mutual perception of Lithuanian and Polish societies

On 25 April 2013 Vilnius hosted an international conference titled Polish-Lithuanian Relations. Truths, Conjectures and Interpretations. The event was co-organized by the Geremek Foundation. 

 

The conference centered on the presentation of the report Side by Side. Mutual Perception of Poles and Lithuanians. The research behind the report - commissioned by the Geremek Foundation - had been conducted by the Institute of Public Affairs and the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University.  This was a second presentation of the report; the first took place on 18 April 2013 at Warsaw University.  The Former President of the Republic of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus, was a special guest of the Vilnius conference.

 

A panel discussion on the report conclusions was conducted with the participation of the following persons:

Paweł Zalewski – Member of the European Parliament;

Vladas Sirutavicus – historian, Vilnius University;

Rimvydas Valatka – Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper 15min;

Renata Mieńkowska-Norkiene – political scientist, Warsaw University;

Laurynas Kasčiūnas - lecturer at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science of Vilnius University.
