POLAND IN THE 20TH CENTURY - edition 2017

We are looking forward for the applications.

During the school year 2011/2012 we launched a programme titled Poland in the 20th century - all-national Bronisław Geremek historical workshops, addressed to first-form secondary school students and their teachers from across Poland. In 2017 we've already started the 6th edition of the program.

It's goal is to stimulate young people's interest in history - particularly modern history - and to promote historical knowledge as an important instrument in understanding the contemporary world. Teachers, on the other hand, get an opportunity to to extend their knowledge, familiarize themselves with attractive teaching methods and to talk with participants in historic events of the last half century. The programme focuses on key developments in Poland's 20th century history that are the subject of debate within the community of historians and among the public in general. The diverse activities include workshops, debates and meetings with historians and participants in the events under discussion. The programme makes use of a wide array of didactical tools including films, literature, posters, photos, and archival recordings.
