READING ROOM

Foundation’s Reading Room „Bronisław Geremek’s Centre” is located In the Foundation’s premises and is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. It contains books from the collection of Professor Geremek, materials handed over by the Society for the Preservation of the Archives of the Literary Institute and other publications on history, political science and social sciences.

At the moment a part of the book collection is available which contains books and Polish magazines (about 2500 titles); a foreign collection of similar size (French, Italian, Russian, English and German books from the collection of Professor Geremek) shall be made available to the readers gradually. The most interesting part of the book collection is the medieval section containing many unique copies. Of great value are series of periodicals, with almost complete series of French “Annales” in the forefront, polish “Zeszyty historyczne” (historical booklets), Italian magazine “Micromega” and Russian “Srednije wieka”. The Reading Room contains a part of Parisan “Culture” and books issued in the Biblioteka Kultury (Library of Culture) series. Guests of the reading room will also have access to television, radio and press materials concerning Bronisław Geremek.

Collected materials are not lent out, these can be copied or scanned on the premises.
