"Let's talk about refugees" project

The overall objective of the project is to facilitate schools to take the challenge in changing the negative attitude of a large part of the youths towards refugees and to prepare young citizens to welcome them in Poland.

In partnership with the Center for Civic Education (CEO) and the National Association of Executives Educational (OSKKO) our Foundation Center of Professor Bronislaw Geremek leads the project "Let's talk about refugees." T

his is our answer to:

• decline of a public support for the reception of refugees among young people in Poland;

• rampant fear of 'outsiders';

• need to reach out to young people with reliable and adapted to their needs information on the situation of refugees and migration;

• need to support teachers in making the talks on refugees in schools;

• need to build youth openness and acceptance of diversity.

Project goals:

The overall objective of the project is to facilitate schools to take the challenge in changing the negative attitude of a large part of the youths towards refugees and to prepare young citizens to welcome them in Poland.

This will be done by:

• supporting teachers in making refugee-related topics;

• sharing information about the need to ‘talk about refugees’ in schools to a wide range of directors;

• providing accurate information on refugee young people.
